Thank you for visiting NewEnglandTimes.Com and Welcome!

NewEnglandTimes.Com is your Web Guide to New England. This site comprises two components: the Travel, Tourism and Real Estate component; and, the Ezine component.

James H. Hyde is the Editor-in-Chief of NewEnglandTimes.Com and has written most of the stories on the site. He is a Jesse H. Neal Award winning writer and editor who has served as managing editor of four magazines, editor of a newsletter about electronic publishing and two syndicated columns. His writing has appeared in The New York Times and newspapers around the world. He is also an award-winnng Web site designer and has designed over 30 Web sites since 1994, including Supermodel.com, which he designed and wrote, and which, in 1995 was getting over a million page views a month. In 1996 and 1997, it was among the top 100 most visited sites on the Web.

The Travel, Tourism and Real Estate component is not a travel portal, but rather an online resource providing editorial, listings and information about where to go, where to stay, what to do, see and eat, and, in the Good To Know section, where one will be able to find auto mechanics, houses of worship, American Express and Western Union offices, doctors, hospitals, vets and even where the local Elks meet. It is designed to be an online guide for people traveling to the region before, during and after their trips here.

The Ezine component is where you'll find interesting articles about special people, places, events and lifestyles that are typically New England. As this section grows, you'll also find it an entertaining source of tips and tricks that have evolved through the folklore, poetry and contributions from people who have stories to tell about the region; perhaps stories written by you. We are looking for writers, poets, photographers and artists who would like to see their work on NewEnglandTimes.Com.

Our Writers and Editors

Terry Hyde is our Managing Editor and Photo Editor. She takes most of the photos appearing on NewEnglandTimes.Com and writes about folklore and interesting and unusual places in the region.

Maureen O'Neil writes about the southern part of New England, in particular Rhode Island, where she lives. As a B&B owner, she understands the needs of others who own inns and writes about them and various attractions in Southern New England.

Sarah Breeyear is both a fantastic writer, editor and photographer. She writes about a variety of topics, especially her early years in Vermont and has her own Photo Gallery of New England Photography.

Mark Hyde is our Research Editor, who writes in addition to his research duties.

We also publish articles by "Guest Writers" who provide information about New England, especially important events within the region."
